Part Two — 2 hours
We will cover the main diseases and characteristics of hedgehogs, various reptile species and birds.

Exotic animals

Dr. Melinda de Mul was born and raised in the Netherlands and is a graduate of the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, being one of the first to complete the “Conservation Medicine” specialisation, which allowed her to gain practical experience in the medicine of zoo and wild animals. After graduating in 2009, she took her first job as a veterinarian at the “Animo” veterinary clinic in Sofia, and in May 2010 moved to the Central Veterinary Clinic, where she spent the next ten years as a veterinarian, working mainly with exotic pets and many of the animals at Sofia Zoo. On several occasions she has assisted the World Parrot Trust with examinations and care for confiscated African grey parrots. In 2021 she co-founded “Bunny Rescue Bulgaria” and has since performed many rabbit neutering procedures as well as dental work. She is a member of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians, the European Association of Zoo and Wildlife Veterinarians, and the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians.
